Use the Search tool to search for a location by address, place of interest or other parameters.
NOTE: You can search for locations only in countries for which you have Nearmap imagery access.
Using the Search Tool
To find a specific location and get to that part of the map quickly, type your search query into the search bar.
Search for a location using one of the following:
|
To Search By | Enter | Example |
---|
Suburb | The name of the Suburb. If a suburb with an identical name exists in different states, you will see options to choose from.
| If you type Epping, you will see options for both Victoria and New South Wales, Australia. |
Street Address | The address, preferably in the format: street number, street name, suburb/city or zip/post code, state. Providing the suburb will return more accurate results. If there are several potential options for an address, these will appear below the search bar for you to choose one. Incorrect street address? As with all street maps, occasionally the information shown may be outdated or incorrect. The address data in the Roadmap view and Street Maps overlay is provided by Here Map Creator. Nearmap has no ability to edit them, so you would have to notify the provider directly at: https://mapcreator.here.com/. | 2800 Post Oak Blvd, Houston, TX 77056 (street number, street name, city, state, zip) 14 Olympic Boulevard, 3000 (street number, street name, postcode)

Latitude and Longitude | The coordinates in decimal format. Click here for an online tool to convert degrees/minutes/seconds to decimal. Northern and Eastern hemisphere coordinates are positive while Southern and Western hemisphere coordinates are negative. | 34.008460, -118.498267 |
Place of Interest | The name of the place, attraction, or landmark. Our search index includes many tourist attractions, zoos, stadiums, universities, places of worship and more. | - Sydney Olympic Park
- Statue of Liberty

MapBrowser places a location indicator on the map, and displays detailed information about the location in the Inspector panel. To save the location and work on it later, mark the location.
NOTE: In addition to searching for a location, you can get to a location using a URL. Learn more about this in About the MapBrowser URL.
Search History
Your search history includes whatever you have entered in the search bar, or locations accessed via a MapBrowser URL. A maximum of 20 addresses are stored in history.
To view the search history, you need to clear the first entry in search bar by clicking the x.
To clear the search history, click CLEAR HISTORY at the bottom of the list of locations. The list of locations will start to build again if you use the Search tool again.
NOTES:
- Clearing browser history and cache also clears your search history.
- Search history does not transfer to new computers. Opening a private window will result in an empty history list.
- Searching for an address does not search through the history.
