MapBrowser allows multiple users to collaborate on a project by letting project owners (the user who has created the project) "share" their project with other users in real time. This means more than one user can work on a project at the same time.
Projects can be shared with other users in two modes:
- View - this mode allows collaborators on a project to only view the project content, that is, measurements and annotations.
- Edit - this mode allows collaborators on a project to edit the project content, and add or remove users on the project. A shared project allows users with editing permissions to add measurements, annotations and and any other operation on the project.
NOTE: While two users can work on a single measurement simultaneously, annotations can be added/edited by a single user at a given time.
Sharing a project
To share a project, open the project and click SHARE in the project information bar.
The Share <Project Name> dialog is displayed.
Projects can be shared in one of two ways:
- By inviting a user or a team of users via their email address
- By sharing the project link
Inviting a user or a team
To invite a user or a team to collaborate on your project:
- Click in the Search box. The list of Nearmap users and teams (with a group email address) in your organization along with their email address is displayed.
- Select the user or users with whom you want to share the project.
- Select the level of project access from:
- Can view - the selected users can only view the project,
or - Can edit - the selected users can view and edit the project, and manage other users on the project.
- Click INVITE. The following message to confirm the sharing is displayed.
- Click CONFIRM to share the project. An email with the project link is sent to the selected users or teams.
To cancel the invite and return to the Share <Project Name> dialog, click CANCEL.
Sharing the project link
You can share the project link with users who are on the same subscription as you or with all users in your organization, and then assign the required access.
To share the project link:
- Select the users on your subscription or in your organization with whom you want to share the project.
- Select the level of access from:
- Can view - the selected users can only view the project.
- Can edit - the selected users can view and edit the project and manage users on the project, or
- No access - only users invited to the project can access the project.
- Click Copy project link. The link is copied to your system's Clipboard.
- Share the copied link with the selected group of users.
