Now that you know how to draw a line or shape to measure, let's take a look at how we can modify or edit lines and shapes. Lines and shapes are referred to as objects here.
Re-sizing an object
To change the size of an object, use one of these methods:
- Resize an object on the map: Simply click to select the object, and drag to the desired size.
- Change the measurements in the FEATURES panel. Type a new value for the measurement.
Calculated values such as area, perimeter and circumference are not editable.
Duplicating an object- Click to select the object.
- Right-click and select Duplicate from the context menu. A copy of the selected object is created and place over the original object.
The duplicate object is identical to the original in every respect - name, size, colour and measurement. It is listed in the Feature Layers.
Rotating an objectRotation is relative to an object's bounding box.
- Click to select the object you want to rotate.
- Drag the object to the angle you want.
- Release the mouse button to finish.
Alternatively, click in the Rotation field in the FEATURES panel and enter the angle of rotation .
A rectangle can also be rotated using its vertices. See Measure and Annotate in the Widget.
Deleting an objectThere are two ways to delete a line, polygon or circle.
A. Directly from the map:
