These instructions apply to QGIS 3.10 (A Coruña) and later. This guide describes how to load georeferenced Nearmap imagery in QGIS using Web Map Tile Service (WMTS).
- Open QGIS Desktop.
- Select Layer > Add Layer > Add WMS/WMTS Layer.
- Select New.
- In the URL field, enter the WMTS API URL* with your API Key on the end.
To get an API key, follow the steps outlined in Create an API Key.
*The WMTS API URL is as follows:
For the US: https://us0.nearmap.com/maps/api/wmts/v1/apikey/YOUR_API_KEY
For Australia: https://au0.nearmap.com/maps/api/wmts/v1/apikey/YOUR_API_KEY
- Once you've entered the WMTS URL with your API key at the end, you do not need to authenticate. Your credentials are the API key.
Press OK.
- Press Connect.
- You must highlight the layer first, as indicated, then select Add.
Now the world should appear!
