Before you start using the Roof Assessment application, it is recommended that you familiarize yourself with some terms that are commonly used in the application.

Building | A shelter comprising a partially or totally enclosed space, erected by means of a planned process of forming and combining materials. |
Capture (Survey) | A flight map created from aerial data collected on a specific date. Some surveys may span multiple days due to operational requirements. |
Detection | Identification of the presence of pre-defined objects or conditions at a particular site. |
List View | The default view displays all the sites in the portfolio you’ve uploaded to Roof Assessment. |
Map View | View that allows you to conduct a visual assessment of the roof detections at your site. |

Roof Condition | Indicates the condition of a roof and identifies any issues that cause degradation of the roof. These conditions include ponding, rusting, staining, and other issues. |
Roof Material | Identifies the materials commonly used in the construction of a roof. For example, Tile, Shingle, Clay and so on. |
Roof Object | Identifies a range of objects and protrusions on top of a roof. For example, solar panels, air conditioning units, chimneys and so on. |
Roof Shape | Identifies the presence of the distinctive forms and structural design elements of a roof. For example, Hip, Gable, Flat and so on. |
Roof Spotlight Index (RSI) | Measures the overall quality of a roof on a scale from 0-100. A score of 0 indicates widespread and/or severe defects or roof issues. A score of 100 indicates no visible defects or roof issues. |
Site | The parcel of land on which one or more structures (building) is present. A site can have one or more addresses or parcels. Address, property and site are also used synonymously in the documentation. |
Site Boundary | Defined perimeter of a site establishing ownership. |
