These instructions apply to AutoCAD® Raster Design® 2015 and above, and describe how to load JPG and JGW files exported from Nearmap without losing the georeferencing information. These instructions are based on AutoCAD 2015.
As Raster Design is part of the AutoCAD toolkit, use it to import georeferenced imagery for any of the AutoCAD suite of applications, such as AutoCAD Plant 3D.
NOTE: AutoCAD will not see the JGW world file if its file path is greater than 128 characters.

- In the Raster Tools menu, click Insert.
- Select the JPG file you wish to insert. Make sure it's in the same folder as its identically-named JGW sister file, but do not attempt to load the JGW file. Ensure that Insertion Wizard is selected if you wish to check values in the following steps.
- If the JGW was found, you'll see World File Correlation set in Correlation Source and values for the Insertion Point. These values are in the coordinate system used by the JGW file, which in turn is determined by what you selected when saving the georeferenced JGW from Nearmap.
Unlike with GIS packages, you do not need to specify what map projection the coordinate system refers to, because standard AutoCAD does not do re-projections. Please refer to Natively Supported Coordinate Systems. Click Next.
- Click Next again on the Modify Correlation Values window.
- Click Finish in the Insertion window. The JGW file should be indicated in the Correlation file name field if it's been imported correctly.
- To see your image, you may need to click Zoom to Extents in the Raster Tools menu.
- Your image should now appear, scaled and positioned in the coordinate system the image was downloaded in.
