Connecting to the EDW
What information do I need to connect to the EDW?
You will need the following:

The Database Name must be explicitly included in your connection string.
How do I get my IP address whitelisted?
Provide your IP address or IP range to your Nearmap contact. Up to 5 IP ranges can be whitelisted per customer. Use VPN or office network addresses where possible. Requests are handled by the Data Engineering team.
Can multiple users share the same EDW credentials?
Yes. Nearmap issues a single set of credentials per customer. Your designated security contact is responsible for distributing credentials to internal users.
Data refresh
How often is the EDW refreshed?
The EDW is refreshed nightly, based on all transactions completed within 24 hours of midnight UTC.
When is refreshed data available to query?

What is the cutoff time for data to be included in the nightly refresh?
Batch orders must be submitted and completed by 3:00 PM to be included in that night's EDW load. Anything submitted after 3:00 PM will be picked up in the following night's refresh.
Data and Reporting
Does the Data Dictionary cover all Betterview detections and features?
No. The Data Dictionary is specific to the EDW and should not be used as a reference for the full Betterview platform, detections catalog, or partner integrations.
What BI tools are compatible with the EDW?
The EDW works with any tool that supports SQL Server or Azure SQL connectivity. Common examples include Tableau, Power BI, and most enterprise BI and analytics platforms.
How long does initial setup take?
Typical setup from credential delivery to confirmed connection takes less than 15 minutes.
Can Nearmap build reports or dashboards for us?
No. Example visualizations are provided here, which show ideas for what you can build on your own.
Notifications and updates
How will we be notified about EDW updates?
The email address(es) provided during onboarding will receive notifications about EDW updates. To update the distribution list, contact Nearmap support.
Subscription Changes
Why isn't a subscription change showing up in the EDW?
Subscription changes do not automatically trigger a grade update in the EDW. The Data Team may need to perform a manual refresh. Contact support for assistance.
