This article explains how to use the Spotlight Editor in the Betterview platform. You can use this tool to edit existing spotlights, report inaccurate spotlights or add new spotlights to an existing Profile.
You can rescore a property once you have added or deleted a detection. Rescoring updates roof score based on your edits.
The Spotlight Editor
While viewing a property report, in the lower right corner you will be able to turn the spotlights on and off. Enable the Spotlight layers via the Layers tool as shown below.
Click the Edit Spotlights tool which is located above the Measurements tool.
The Spotlight Editor is displayed, where you can report, add and delete spotlights.
Reporting spotlights
The Reporting option allows you to report any possible missing detections by the system that have been noticed by the user. In the Spotlight Editor, select Report. A list of detections is displayed.
If you are not sure what type of detection has been missed, select the other option under Misc and our team will look at the image to decide. Once you're done selecting your detections, click Report to finalize your selection. A message confirming the submission is displayed.
Adding spotlights
The Spotlight Addition option allows you to draw in your own Spotlights and rescore the Profile as needed.
Some Spotlights are incompatible with certain Roof Shapes and Roof Material, when you try to add an incompatible spotlight the system will hide it from view and you will not be able to rescore the Profile.
To add a spotlight:
- Select the Add tab in the Spotlight Editor tool.
- Next, click Draw. A list of detections is displayed.
- Select the detection you wish to add - you have options to add either Property or Building detections.
- Using your mouse, outline where the spotlight should go by adding polygons to make your desired shape. Note you will not be able to draw certain spotlights outside the Footprint or boundary.
- Once you've added your spotlight, click RESCORE (at the bottom of the panel). A message is displayed to confirm that the score has been updated.
Editing spotlights
You can also use the Spotlight Editor to edit spotlight that you do not agree with.
To do so:
- Select the Delete tab in the Spotlight Editor.
- Simply click the spotlight you want to delete. The spotlight is deleted and listed under the Delete tab.
- To view the deleted spotlight, click the Show/Hide button next to the listed detection. A deleted spotlight is displayed with dotted lines.
- To restore the spotlight, click the Restore Spotlight icon next to a deleted detection. It's added back to the map.
- Once you have deleted the required detections, click RESCORE. A message is displayed to confirm your roof score has been updated.
Once you select RESCORE, the deletions are finalized, and you cannot restore the deleted detections.
