Use the Line tool to measure length. You can draw a simple straight line or a multi-path line to measure length.
Drawing a simple line
- Click the Line button.
- Click the start point of the line.
- Double-click to complete the line.
Drawing a multi-path line
- Click the Line button.
- Click each vertex of each line segment.
- Double-click to complete the line.
NOTES:
- For a line, the map shows the line length, total length and bearing. Some or all of these can be shown/hidden. You can edit these values in the Inspector panel.
- For a multi-path line, the map shows the segment length, total length and segment bearing. These values cannot be edited. Some or all of these can be shown/hidden.
- The Elevation Profile is displayed below the map if the option is selected.
- You can rotate the line from the Inspector panel.
Adding a point to a line
- Click anywhere on the line or line segment. A new point appears midway along the line or line segment.
- You can now click and drag that point to where you need it.
NOTE: You can only add a point at the midpoint of a line or segment. After you create the point, you can drag it to re-position as required.
