Autodesk Recap 360 is an application that you can use to easily display Nearmap's 3D point cloud in Autodesk supported format.
Nearmap's 3D point cloud imagery is delivered in .las file format, or the compressed version .laz format.
Autodesk Recap 360 also supports Polygon File Format (.ply).
Recap 360 is a Autodesk product, and as such any support you may need should be directed to Autodesk.
This guide is intended to give you general instructions on how to view Nearmap 3D point cloud in Autodesk Recap 360, and might not reflect the latest version of the application.
- Open Recap 360, and select the Import option from the top menu.
- Click your preferred import option, either individual files or a .las folder, then select the files/folder.
- Click import files.
- Click index scans.
- Click launch project.
- The LAS file is converted to an .rcp (recap) file. The end result is Nearmap's point cloud.
You can zoom in, tilt, and pan using your mouse.
The point cloud is fully RGB. You can change the color modes used to display points, you can change the view to Intensify, and more.
