Dropbox deliveries
To access your Vertical Offline content from Dropbox:
- Prepare for getting the content to your computer.
- Download the content files from the Dropbox folders.
- Extract the contents of the zipped files.
Getting ready to download the content
- Download 7zip from https://www.7-zip.org/, and install it on your computer. We recommend that you download the 64-bit version. This application is required for extracting the content files.
- Download all the split zip files (001, 002, … etc) and the supporting layout files.
- Extract the zipped supporting image files.
Downloading the content
Offline content is stored in one or more ZIP files. Each of these links will be to GEOTIFF or JPEG files, or the format in which you want the imagery delivered. There will also be a link for the layout file.
NOTE: Delivery links will expire in 30 days. Contact Support if the links have expired, and you need access to the links again.
If your content is more than 17GB, the content is split into multiple zip files. To download the content:
- Download all the parts to the same location on your computer before trying to extract your Nearmap offline content.
For example, if your download contains three parts, your folder should contain a .zip.001(or .zip) file, a .zip.002 file, and a .zip.003 file. You do not need to do anything with the .zip.002 and .zip.003 files
Extracting the contents of the ZIP file
To extract downloaded content:
- Go to the folder where you have all the zip files downloaded. For example, this folder contains three files:
- Nearmap_Data.zip.001 or Nearmap_Data.zip (parent ZIP file)
- Nearmap_Data.zip.002 (First child)
- Nearmap_Data.zip.003 (Second child)
- Right-click the Nearmap_Data (Parent zip file) and choose Extract to “Nearmap_Data\”. This will create a folder Nearmap_Data in the same directory and extract all the files to it.
The contents of your bulk download will be extracted to the folder you select or the folder you are in, depending on the option selected above. There is no need to click the .zip.002 or .zip.003 files.
Once the data has been completely unzipped, you can go to the Nearmap_Data folder. Within this, you will find the GEOTIFFS folder with the images, or whatever format you have chosen. You can now access these images in your online platform such as ArcGIS.
