The following Article will go over how to Edit existing Spotlights, Report inaccurate Spotlights and how to Add Spotlights to an existing Profile.
Editing Spotlights
Occasionally a profile may have some roof detections that users may not agree with. We've now made it even easier to self-correct these issues and rescore the property.
See the UPDATED instructions below on how to complete this:
While looking at a report, in the lower right corner you will be able to turn the spotlights on and off. While having the spotlights on, you can edit those that you do not agree with.
In order to edit the spotlight of choice, you can select the Spotlight symbol located above the Measurement Tool.
Once the Spotlight Editor tool is selected, you can click on the spotlight that has been chosen for removal and it will highlight to the color red. The Spotlight Editor will also appear on the left side of your screen following this choice.
If there is a change needed BEFORE rescoring, there is a "Restore" button available.
You are also able to delete a spotlight using the red trash can symbol as well to view the roof without the spotlight, once done viewing without the spotlight you can select "Undo" to have the spotlight visible on the roof again.
Once you have made a final decision on the removal of a spotlight, you can select "Delete All and Rescore". This will remove the spotlight and update the score of the report. Note: Once a spotlight has been deleted and the report has been rescored, you are not able to have that spotlight back on the roof on that particular report.
You are also able to report any spotlights you believe should have been included in the report using the Reporting Tool.
Reporting Spotlights
The Reporting Tool allows you to report any possible missing detections by the system that are noticed by the user. This tool can be found when selecting the Spotlight Editor tool on the right-hand side when in the Betterview platform.
Once the Spotlight Editor is selected the Reporting Tool will become visible in the lower left hand corner
Click on the flag and then select the down arrow in order to bring up a list of options for detections that may have been missed by the system.
If you are not sure what type of detection has been missed, select the 'other' option at the bottom and our team will look at the image to decide.
once you're done selecting your detections, click Report to finalize your selection
Adding Spotlights
The Spotlight Addition tool will allow our users to draw in their own Spotlights and rescore the Profile as needed. Some Spotlights are incompatible with certain Roof Shapes and Roof Material, when you try to add an incompatible spotlight the system will hide it from view and you will not be able to rescore the Profile.
To add a spotlights:
Click on the Edit Spotlight button located towards the lower right hand side of the page
2. Next, click on "Draw"
3. Then select a Detection to add - you have options to add either Property Detections or Building Detections
4. Using your mouse, outline where the spotlight should go by adding polygons to make your desired shape, please note you will not be able to draw certain spotlights outside the Footprint or boundary.
5. Once you've added your spotlight, go ahead and hit 'rescore' and then you will see a Green pop-up on the lower left-hand corner that will confirm your spotlight was added and score has been updated
