These offline deliveries are available as two distinct products:
Bulk updates on large areas, such as whole states or countries, are better suited to the level of control allowed by the AI Feature API, due to the complexity of defining and delivering large data sets that span many surveys.
AI Offline Vector

Description | Contains features, which are polygons or shapes that represent objects in the world. Each of these features also has a set of attributes such as, confidence and area calculations that describe the properties of the feature. |
Format | The vector maps are available in geospatial formats including GeoPackage (.gpkg) and Geodatabase (.gdb). |
Usage | - Where the requested AOI intersects with multiple Nearmap Surveys, multiple files will be returned. This permits complete transparency regarding edges where partial or overlapping objects may be present due to multiple flight paths.
- Every feature has a unique ID, and metadata attached. This does not include any address or property information.
- At the edges of an AOI, "continuous" objects (such as those from the Vegetation and Surfaces AI Packs) are trimmed to the boundary of the AOI. For other discrete objects, the whole object is returned, which may extend beyond the boundary of the AOI. This is to preserve the integrity of metadata such as pre-calculated areas, ratios and relationships between objects (such as the dominant roof material).

AI Offline Raster

Description | Contains more information than vector where each individual pixel rather than a whole feature and has a confidence value. However, it does not include our enhanced vector processing and metadata such as 3D derived attributes. AI Offline Raster is better suited to people that want custom control of the vectorization process. Unless you really know you need raster, you are almost certainly better off with our vector products. There are two main reasons a raster export may be useful: - For viewing as a raster overlay.
- If you need to dig deeper than what the AI Pack vectorised data includes, raster may be worth considering as it technically includes more information than the vector data. The main consideration is if you want to choose your own threshold for vectorization.

Usage | Geospatial raster data can be more complex to work with than vector products, or spreadsheet data. If you're not sure whether a raster AI Layer delivery is right for you, consider whether: - You have a single, defined area of interest (AOI) that could be drawn on a map. This delivery is not suited for a large number of small polygons scattered over a large area (such as an organization that has interests in a few properties scattered throughout a state).
- You have in-house GIS capability to deal with raster. If you are unfamiliar with concepts like thresholding a result to produce a binary map, have not used a tool such as ArcGIS or QGIS, or have not dealt with map projections such as EPSG:4326 and EPSG:3857, you may be better off using our AI Pack vectorized products.
