True Ortho comprises high resolution imagery that is fully integrated with Nearmap's 3D content. It is a continuous ortho mosaic implementation of the True Ortho option provided through 3D Export in MapBrowser.
Some key features of Nearmap True Ortho include:
- Zero building lean
- Spatial consistency between images of above ground objects
- Accurate horizontal measurements resulting from elimination of parallax error
Why True Ortho?
True Ortho eliminates all the parallax distortion that appears in regular orthographic images, providing an obstruction-free view for accurate measurement. True Ortho images consistently align between captures within accuracy specifications. Due to the absence of building lean, high rise features don't block the view of ground surfaces allowing a clear view of roads and ground features in the area surrounding these objects.
What can I do with True Ortho in MapBrowser?
Measure True Ortho in MapBrowser using the Vertical measurement tools. With parallax error eliminated, rooftop measurements using True Ortho are consistent and spatially accurate for flat surfaces.
Within MapBrowser, it is possible to preview the results of a 3D export with textured mesh and True Ortho.
How do I get it?
True Ortho is currently included with 3D Viewer and 3D Export subscriptions.
