The following features are currently available in the Betterview application. If you have any questions about the new functionality, please reach out to your Betterview contact, or email support@nearmap.com.
New Flags
Configuration: Must be configured by Betterview
User Limitation: None
Availability: Immediate
Three new flags have been added to Betterview.
- Percent of roof covered by solar panels
- Count of solar panels (This is the number of distinct solar panels, not a count of the number of solar panels.)
- Exposed Deck
Upgraded Models: Swimming Pools and Yard Debris
Configuration: None
User Limitation: None
Availability: Immediate
Upgraded models for the existing Swimming Pool and Yard Debris detections are now available in Betterview. If a property has either detection on a property, it will be captured as a detection and shown as a spotlight. These detections do not impact the Roof Spotlight Index. This new model improves the accuracy of these detections.
Upgraded Summary PDF Export
Configuration: None
User Limitation: None
Availability: Immediate
The Summary PDF Export has been upgraded. The layout is now improved, it is faster to generate, and more imagery is included including MLS photos. MLS photos are only included if your organization has access to HazardHub and if MLS photos are available.
Note that some carriers had a V2 Summary turned on previously. The V2 Summary has replaced the original Summary PDF and is now called Summary. You will no longer see a V2 Summary.
New Beta C.O.P.E Layout
Configuration: None
User Limitation: None
Availability: Immediate
Betterview is excited to beta launch a new C.O.P.E Layout.
This toggle switch at the top right corner of the platform is available to all users and is defaulted to OFF. If the toggle is switched to ON, the property details page will be viewed in a new format that organizes data in a C.O.P.E format, the familiar underwriting pillars for property risks.
All of the property data found in the original user interface (UI) can be found in the C.O.P.E Layout, which brings an enhanced level of search, customization, and workflow efficiency to your property underwriting tasks.
Additionally, there are new features available in the C.O.P.E. The new features include:
- New Timeline and Street View: There is an upgraded timeline at the top of the aerial imagery on the right pane. You can select the date to view from the timeline, or by using the date dropdown on the far right. Street View with historical dates is now available as well.
- Dynamic Comparison Quartile Summary: Displays the distribution of properties against the quartile distribution in a workspace. This will help display if the Roof Spotlight Index is good or bad compared to the rest of the properties in the workspace.
- Pin to Summary: Each attribute has an information symbol next to it that allows users to Pin information to the Summary section at the top of the property details. This information can be unpinned at any time. When information is pinned, that information will also show in the summary section of all other property profiles. Pinned information is unique to the user.
- PartnerHub Global Search: Now all available partner data can be searched by using the search icon. If there is information in the Global Search that is not standard it can still be pinned to the summary section for easy reference.
- More: The More link under the address allows the user to edit some of the property details including External ID, Assigned To, and Policy Number.
When first switching to the C.O.P.E view a pop-up will display a brief tutorial and will allow feedback. Betterview is gathering feedback on the new UI while it is in Beta stage.
Bulk Upload Update: One Parcel
Configuration: None
User Limitation: None
Availability: Immediate
Previously, when uploading properties into Betterview, multiple addresses on the same property would result in multiple Betterview reports. Now, Betterview will only create a property report for each unique parcel for addresses per upload, to streamline the underwriting workflow.
For example, if building A and B are separate properties in an upload but are listed on the same parcel only one Betterview report will be generated. Note that if building A was previously uploaded in Betterview and building B is included in the new upload, two Betterview reports would be generated.
Wildfire Vulnerability Score Approved for Texas Rate Filings
Configuration: None
User Limitation: None
Availability: Immediate
Texas has approved the Betterview Wildfire Vulnerability score. If a carrier wants to use the score in their plans in Texas, the carrier does not need to justify that the score is predictive (we have done the work for you!). Carriers can still use the score in states that Betterview isn’t approved for filing, but there may be additional steps to include the score in a filing.
