The following features are currently available in the Betterview application. If you have any questions about the new functionality, please reach out to your Betterview contact, or email support@betterview.com.
Deprecating Access to Legacy Property Profile
Configuration: None
User Limitation: None
Availability: Immediate
Betterview has officially deprecated access to the legacy property profile. The previously available opt in/out method for users, the COPE toggle button, has been removed, and all users have been opted into the COPE layout. Further, any URL links that previously directed users to legacy property profiles have been redirected to their corresponding COPE property profile view.
Oblique Imagery Now Available
Configuration: None
User Limitation: None
Availability: Immediate
Betterview has now integrated Eagleview oblique imagery into every property profile requested with Eagleview imagery. All historical property profiles will have access to this set of oblique imagery going forward.
Once a user clicks on the “obliques” icon in the COPE summary tab, or the “oblique” label in the timeline, Betterview will load oblique imagery rendered with building labels (building #s) for easy understanding of buildings mapped to roof spotlight index scores. A user can zoom in and out, or change imagery orientation, by clicking on the N/S/E/W buttons on the bottom right of the screen.
Spotlight Editor: Reporting, Additions, Deletions, and History
Configuration: None
User Limitation: None
Availability: Immediate
Betterview has introduced an upgraded experience within the Spotlight Editor. These upgrades include the ability to report on any issues with found detections, add new spotlights to the profile, delete existing spotlights, and review a history of modifications made using the spotlight editor.
By default, the Report tool will open when navigating to the spotlight editor. The Report tool allows users to notify the Betterview team about any issues with one, or many, detections found on individual property profiles. The team uses this feedback loop to ensure that the next versions of computer vision models better address the issues found by our users.
The Add tab will open the Spotlight Additions tool, which enables users to add new detections in the event that there are false negatives found. Upon saving the drawn detections, the property profile and roof spotlight index will refresh with the added information and will display the detection to users going forward. Again, these additions also act as a feedback loop for the Betterview team in support of ongoing model enhancements.
The Delete tab will open the Spotlight Deletion tool, which has remained mostly unchanged from previous iterations on the legacy property profile. Users can select any detection to delete them from view and save, which will refresh the property profile and roof spotlight index with the removed information, no longer displaying the deleted detections.
Finally, a user can now see a history of changes made to a property profile using the Spotlight Editor by clicking on the Edit History tab. This is informational, showing users that modifications to the profile have been made since the initial report was generated.
Once again, all reporting, additions or deletions act as extremely valuable feedback loop mechanisms for the Betterview team to continue to provide the most accurate detections on each property.
Spotlight Addition Validations
Configuration: None
User Limitation: None
Availability: Immediate
Betterview has continued enhancing the Spotlight additions feature of the spotlight editor. This enhancement – spotlight addition validations – ensures that spotlights drawn on any of the roof footprints across the property are compatible with the initial Betterview roof shape and roof material detections. If a drawn detection is not valid, the spotlight editor will present a warning message to update 1) the drawn detection, or 2) the roof shape/material to ensure the addition(s) is considered upon saving, with the goal being to ensure drawn detections are always available for users.
