Insurance carriers assess risk at the portfolio, account, policy, and property level. Account and Policy Management connects property-level insights to that broader account and policy context, so underwriters and portfolio managers can work from one accurate picture instead of piecing it together across systems.
The feature links policy and account information directly to properties in Betterview, and keeps that information current against the actual Policy in Force (PIF). You can update this information one property at a time, or apply changes to your entire portfolio through the Bulk Upload specifically built for Account and Policy Management.
Why it matters
Account and Policy Management gives you a clearer view of every account and policy you manage:
- Deeper risk insight at every level. Property, policy, account, and portfolio views connect to each other, so you can spot developing risk before it becomes a loss instead of after.
- Integrated map and table views. Policy and account pages sit alongside your existing property views, making it easy to assess account health, track trends, and prioritize the policies that need attention.
With a more complete and accurate account and policy picture, you are better positioned to price renewals appropriately and back up coverage decisions with current data.
Who has access
Account and Policy Management is available to all Betterview users. No separate activation or permissions setup is required.
Setting up bulk updates: full sync vs. partial sync
Typically, policy and account data is managed at scale, not one property at a time, so Bulk Upload is the starting point for most teams. It supports two sync types. Ensure that you choose the correct option:
- Partial sync - Select this option to add or update policy details for only the properties included in the CSV file. Properties already in Betterview are updated with the latest information from the file, and any new properties in the file are added to your portfolio. Properties in Betterview that aren't included in the CSV file remain unchanged. This option doesn't perform a full sync and no property is marked as inactive or cancelled unless the file explicitly sets its status to cancelled.
- Full sync - This works in the same way as the current bulk uploader. Portfolio properties already in the system get updated with the latest information from the file, and properties not yet in the system get added to your portfolio. Properties are only marked as cancelled if the file explicitly sets their status to cancelled.
If you're only updating policy or account information on properties you've already ordered, opt for partial sync. This will not trigger a new order or a new charge.
Notes
If you enable this feature after submitting a property with a legacy Policy ID, that property's policy number does not populate automatically. The legacy Policy ID and the new policy number are tracked separately in the system, so enabling the feature doesn't retroactively backfill orders submitted beforehand.
To bring an existing property up to date with , resubmit it through partial sync via Bulk Upload, not as a new order. Partial sync matches the property against its existing profile and updates the policy information in place. You get the new policy number without placing a new order or generating a new charge.
Where to see the information
Dedicated pages for each account and policy roll up every linked property, so you can see coverage and risk at that level without cross-referencing spreadsheets.
Once policy and account data is linked, you can find it in a few places as outlined below.
Search
Search by address, external ID, Policy ID or account ID and find every linked property. When searching by Policy ID or Account ID, you can find results/links to individual policy or account pages, from where you’ll be able to access address-specific information. If searching by address or external ID, you will find individual property profiles that match search criteria.
Property profile
Every property profile now shows links to its linked policy and account pages, so you can move from a single property up to the full account context in one click.
- From the PropertyAction Dashboard, click on the property address. This displays the property details in the Property Profile page with the policy and account links if you have previously provided these details.
Note that you can also use the Search functionality to locate the property you wish to view. - Just below the address, you'll find the Policy and Account numbers.
- Click the number to access the associated policy or account details.
