Explore, export, import!
Let's face it: The world is not two-dimensional. Sometimes we need a third dimension to better understand a structure in context and to imagine what is possible. Maybe you need to model environmental risk with the latest terrain models. Perhaps you want to visualize or validate a building design within the greater construction site. Nearmap 3D offers frequently updated, wide-coverage 3D location content available on demand.
MapBrowser 3D Viewer
3D Viewer in MapBrowser is an immersive experience that makes it easy to measure distances between buildings and obtain elevation values.

3D Export
3D Export is a subscription add-on that enables you to download a range of 3D content on demand from MapBrowser. Simply draw your area of interest with the polygon tool, or drop in a GeoJSON file, and confirm the export details. Your export request will be processed instantly and ready for download in minutes or hours, not days. To access this feature, please check with your Nearmap administrator to ensure you have been assigned 3D Export permissions.
Nearmap 3D Content Types
Nearmap 3D is a suite of advanced content types that adds new dimensions to your virtual site inspections, feasibility studies, and design workflows. Available via MapBrowser for on-demand export, Nearmap 3D gives you instant access to frequently updated location content in various formats:
Textured mesh
Highly detailed, geospatially accurate 3D reality mesh with color and texture. Allows you to measure height, area, length, and RL (elevation) values. Textured mesh offers an immersive experience that enables you interact with objects in 3D space and tell a compelling story with visualization and fly-throughs.
Point cloud
A vector file made up of points containing X, Y, and Z and RGB color values, allowing visualization and conceptualization for small highly detailed point cloud datasets. The point features represent the same surface elevations as those found in the Nearmap textured mesh and DSM files, including the heights of both natural and built features. Point cloud is available for export from MapBrowser.
True Ortho
A high resolution True Ortho is photogrametically corrected to remove building lean. It is fully integrated with the Nearmap content stack, allowing pixel to pixel alignment with Nearmap DSM and DTM/DEM. The absence of parallax error results in an accurate view of the world without obstruction, meaning you can measure confidently on a roof or on the ground.
Digital Surface Model (DSM)
High resolution DSM (elevation data) aligns perfectly with Nearmap True Ortho to allow you to add context when inspecting the heights of objects on the Earth’s surface.
Digital Terrain/Elevation Model (DTM/DEM)
A high resolution, frequently updated bare earth elevation layer produced by combining photogrammetric 3D processing with machine learning and artificial intelligence. Fully integrated with the content stack, it allows pixel to pixel alignment with Nearmap DSM and True Ortho.
