how can i take a snapshot with a custom border size?

i cannot attach the screenshots atm but i am trying to take a screenshot of a specific area and i have a few text bubbles that overlap when its zoomed in but because the area is large (a few city blocks) i want to take a larger snapshot of the area that shows each bubble in their own space.

sometimes i will rotate my display on my computer but this wouldnt help in this instance because the area i am looking into is wider than it is long
