Hi @Chris_30542,
Thanks for reaching out.
The only imagery that appeared to be in an incorrect chronological order that I could find was the survey listed as Thursday June the 27th 2024. This survey has imagery captured from the following date:
- August 29th 2024 12:55pm to August 29th 2024 1:19pm.
Where as the following survey, listed as Saturday August 3rd 2024, has captured imagery as of:
- August 3rd 2:23pm.
You can find this imagery here.
Is this the incorrect chronological order that you are referring to?
Assuming that this is the error you are referring to its a fair perspective to think its an error. This is in fact the best way that we can display our content to customers due to the complexity with surveying imagery with light aircraft. Please excuse my long winded explanation.
We have different types of camera systems that we use to capture our surveys. We develop these ourselves. We are up to our third iteration of our camera system. Each of these systems have different capabilities and accuracy ratings. We have though consistently improved our capture capabilities and quality with each new release.
When capturing our surveys we also have to work around a number of factors so that we can capture our high quality imagery. These are:
- Weather:
- Turbulence
- Cloud cover
- Angle of the sun.
- Air Traffic Control.
What has happened with the survey here is occasionally we will start a survey with a particular camera system and for one of the above reasons we have had to stop the survey part way through. (Perhaps unexpected cloud cover rolled in). This leaves us with a section of imagery that has been captured. Its too small for its own survey. We also don't want to discard the imagery, It would be valuable for customers to be able to view it. As such we choose to merge this imagery with the next available survey. The issue with doing this though is our different camera systems have different accuracy specifications. As such we need to align it with the same version camera system. This might mean it gets associated to an earlier survey or a later survey.
This is why its really important to use the pin tool to check the date and time of the survey rather than relying on the name of the survey for the date of the imagery.
I hope that this helps explain. Let me know if you have any questions or comments.
