Why is the imagery not aligning well?
We capture our imagery surveys using light aircraft. Part of the process for building our maps is to stitch one photo’s image to another. It can be extremely difficult to stitch objects that are above ground or objects that are near or crossing water, and for this reason bridges are particularly challenging. If this issue…

Parts of an object appear to be misaligned
We orthorectify our imagery using a Digital Terrain Model (DTM) that represents the bare earth. This occasionally leads to stitching artifacts on elevated structures such as buildings and bridges, but does not affect the measurement accuracy of visible contiguous detail.

Imagery from different UTM Zones in ArcGIS Pro not visible
When in ArcGIS Pro, it may happen that Nearmap imagery on different UTM zones will not be visible. For example using NZGD 2000 UTM Zone 60S (EPSG:2135) you will not see South Island imagery. As New Zealand's North and South Islands are on different UTM zones, both simple and Custom WMS will filter out imagery that is…

Strips of imagery missing or blurry
When a strip of imagery is missing or blurry, it is likely that the aircraft experienced turbulence at the time and we don't have redundant imagery to correct the issue.

Missing imagery and survey boundaries
Imagery capture is a very complex operation. What Nearmap refers to as a “survey capture” is essentially a reasonably stable flightmap, flown on one day. The boundary may change occasionally, but in most cases they are stable. In some cases, due to weather conditions or air traffic control (and a host of other…
